Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco

Welcome to Amnesty International Group 30's website!

We are a community-based collection of volunteers who meet, write letters, and organize events to advance the principles of human rights promoted by Amnesty International worldwide.

This month we are featuring the case of Shi Tao, a Chinese poet arrested after his email account information was turned over to Chinese authorities by Yahoo!. Last month we took action on the apparent censorship of a documentary about Rebiya Kadeer by the Australian Broadcast Corporation. We are happy to report that they now have plans to broadcast the film.

We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the First Unitarian Center, 1187 Franklin St (at Geary) in San Francisco.

Newcomers welcome!

NEXT MEETING: September 8, 2010
